SMaSH World Tour #5: Mimosa

We are halfway through our journey with Eleven and have arrived in the Czech Republic. The native ground of Pilsener and the country where people drink the most beer per capita. Furthermore, there are beautiful hops coming from the Czech soil, Eleven took Mimosa to brew the next SMaSH beer.

Lager
IPL stands in this case for International Pale Lager. A bottom-fermented beer in which the malt and hops get plenty of space. A name with a wink to beer country Czech Republic, where Urquell has the exclusive right to Pilsner as a trade name, actually in the land of pilsners. As a result, all other pilsners in the Czech Republic are called Světlý Ležák, freely translated as Pale Lagers. Eleven did not stop there, let the hops pop out!

DDH IPL
Mimosa by itself is a reserved variety, it gives exactly the hoppy touch a pilsner beer needs. However, Eleven has made sure that Mimosa is anything but modest. This has been achieved by using a double dose of dry hops, in other words: Double Dry Hopped (DDH). It results in Mimosa to be tasted in all its glory.

Podcast
With every beer in this SMaSH series, a podcast will be recorded, in which we highlight the beer and the hops together with Brewery Eleven. You can find it on the website of Eleven (Dutch only), where you can order the beer first, then scroll down for the podcast.
